How the index is built
The index is designed around the quotes returned through the platform for the corridor: drop the top and bottom decile, then take the median for each mode and weight class. Until a lane carries enough platform volume for that to mean something, the series is modelled rather than measured — which is why the one above is labelled illustrated.
The index is a reference, not a quote. Your price depends on the carrier, the booking window and capacity on the day.
The index is modelled, and every forecast built on it carries its method where you read it. It is a planning signal — it is not a rate you can book at, and it is not advice.
